Construction Project Underway

The Wisconsin Drive Street Project is well underway. The project will be done in two phases. Phase I is from Riverview Drive to Collins Road and Phase II is from Wisconsin Drive to Crawfish River Bridge. The City of Jefferson budgeted for Wisconsin Drive to be completely reconstructed in 2002. Jefferson Utilities, whenever possible and/or necessary, replaces outdated water main while the street is torn up.

During construction, it will be necessary for us to shut the water off at residences for a few hours at a time. We will try to give as much notice as possible by either contacting residents in person or leaving a note at the residence. When the water is turned back on, we urge customers to let an outside faucet run for a few minutes in order to clear their system. If an outside faucet is not available, let your bathtub water run or remove the screen aerator at the kitchen sink and let that water run.

In case of any problems, we can be reached during the day (7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) at 674-7711 or you can call our after-hours emergency number 674-7717.
